Interests:
I always admired watercolors for their fluidity and color. Because of
my GE career, I was not able to pursue this interest until shortly before I retired. I
enrolled in a local class for watercolor beginners in 1996. I was hooked;
and since then I have won awards at both local and regional shows.
Presently, as a member of the Schenectady Art Society, Colonie Art League, and
Albany Center Gallery, I regularly participate in their shows and other
exhibitions as well as set up at local outdoor shows in which I have won
numerous awards.
Since
retiring, I have been exploring acrylic abstract and non-representational
painting. I am drawn toward this type of painting because of the colors,
shapes and surprises one gets in the process of completing a work. |
