Felting is one of the oldest crafts of humanity, likely originally developed to give comfort in the harsh world through the production of wool felted textiles. Join Edie for a fun exploration of wet felting to open your creative minds to the possibilities of this ancient medium.
November 13th, 2021– Painted Paper, Weaving and Collage, deadline to register is November 3rd. $30.00
By using painted paper and magazine pages to weave and collage creating both flat and 3D art objects. By fusing the painted layers , they become sturdy and can be cut, layered, and shaped. - Supplies you need to bring-- paints ( suggest acrylic, but you can put gloss mediums over other paints) Gloss Medium, scissors, razor knife and perhaps an empty mat to place over your collage as you work to help envision how it might look cropped. Kathy Klompas has a love for process, for capturing energy and rhythm with color and pattern. Weaving with painted papers harkens back to Kathy's first love, working with fibers, both on and off a traditional loom. And connects with her passion for printmaking, working with abstract pattern on paper and fabric.
